Darren Ganga, the T&T captain had made some comments about the possibility of West Indies breaking up and respective islands having their own teams if the WI board does not come up with a solution to the on going problems. I think the passion of representing the West Indies has dwindled with so much of problems with selections and each island having theirr own agenda. Having said that will each island be competetive enough to be in the big league, T&T have showed they have a lot of passion as well as talent at least in the shorter format and I hope they win this tournament, they deserve it more than any other team.

Cheers!!

Yes they look so good in the v shortest version fo the game and that doesn ot automatically mean that they are the same in the longer version of the game. But seeing them, you get the feeling that the old carrebean flair in all aspects are demonstrated on the field. And on what we see, even as seeprate countries, they will surely be competitive in cricket in all forms .

A very professional NSW team playing with true never say die aussie spirit shattered the dreams of T&T in the final last evening. Another team being 83/6 would have folded up for around 120 but you can always count on the aussies to fight to the very end and thats exactly what they did in the final with Brett Lee making the major contribution. It was indeed a super innings by Lee under pressure and then came back to take two wickets in his first two overs which broke the back of the T&T batting line up. I thought they went for too many big shots when they were in front on the run rate.

Pollard again played some blistering shots but trying to play too many shots brought his undoing. I think the natural west indian flair got the better of them. Anyway they were not digraced, T&T brought a new diamension to the tournament with the old WI flair in ample evidence and I think the fans enjoyed watching it after a long time. Well played to both teams.

One other aspect of NSW win was their catching, it was excellent.

Cheers!!

Yup, NSW were there for the kill...you could sense that Brett Lee wanted this very much as soon after he p;layed a cracking innigs to gove NSW a reasonable score. He dahsed back to field to practice his bolwing and to adjuist his length to bolwing more yorket length....and that he did. They even showed Lee's pitch map comparison to his last match versus the stratgey he adopted for the finals. Got to give the guy all the marks for the effort and determination to outsmart the T&T.

But a great show by the T&T in the tournament and phew I thought Pollard was doing ti again, till one mis-hit abrupted his effort. But what hitting by him.

The other thing in the T&T , which was also highlighted by the commentators was the fact that these guys generally went for cricket shots that turned out to be big hits for sixes. It was not just about premditated hitting of the T20 kind we generally see, it was pure cricketing shots most of the time by massive power and awesome striaght-hitting.

I think Trinidad and Tobago established some very good things for West Indian cricket. They showed us that the magnificient spirit and particular brand of cricket that the West Indies have a reputation for is very much alive. It has just been drowned in a sea of money hungry jackals that pass for professional cricketers these days.
The West Indies cricket board should seriously consider kicking all the dissenting players out and giving Ganga the captaincy and going with the type of players who represented T& T.

There is no problem with losing if you play the way T&T did. In fact I would have been proud of the team and am delighted that I was one of the first to spot this talent in this forum and supported them with all my heart after the Wayamba team exited.
